Here Is The Analysis Of The Game :
First Quarter :

- The opening play of the game saw Jeff Wilson Jr. receive the handoff. It would imply that he will be the RB2 for the upcoming season. He raced behind the left tackle Jaylon Moore, who has been sidelined for the majority of training camp due to a lower leg ailment. Moore is replacing Trent Williams in the starting lineup.
- Trey Lance made a wonderful pass while he was running, and it led to a first down. However, he was able to find Kyle Juszczyk on the sideline when he was short on George Kittle. A first down was gained by the fullback’s sneaky advance.
- Despite being on the move, Lance threw an inaccurate ball. Colton McKivitz, the starting right tackle, took a beating during a play that had play action. Although Lance did a good job of extending the play, his pass to Aiyuk ended up going right into the ground. The continuation of the action is encouraging. To a lesser extent on the toss.
- Long shot taken by Lance and directed toward Deebo Samuel. It appeared as though there may have been some interference with the pass. A passable throw with improved coverage.
- Malik Turner delivered a devastating blow to Houston’s punt returner. It is seeming more and more likely that Turner will be included on the team.
End of first quarter: Texans 7, 49ers 0
Second Quarter:

- On first-and-five, Sermon made an excellent blitz pickup. That opened the field for Lance to complete a first down pass to Charlie Woerner. It appears that Lance has found his groove.
- Here comes the worst kind of blitz pickup! Moore was beaten at left tackle, and Sermon did little to stop the rusher on his way to Lance from the outside. The quarterback was hit while throwing.
- Ebukam is a frightening creature. After Ebukam compelled Mills to take a sack in the pocket, Jordan Willis recorded one as well. What Willis needed.
- At this point, Sermon’s offensive line is to blame for the team’s struggles. Keaton Sutherland, who is not a particularly talented NFL player, is starting at center. The competition also includes Nate Sudfeld.
- Very fascinating. Instead of Ty Davis-Price, Jordan Mason will enter the game.
- A terrible interception was thrown by Sudfeld. Yikes. He was tossing to a spot where no one was available to receive it.
- Thanks to a spectacular play by Womack, Tarvarius Moore has just made an interception. He’s had a fantastic preseason thus far.
- Spencer Burford has been placed under arrest again.
- The preseason has been great for Charles Omenihu. He’s keeping it up even against his old squad. He’s had an impact on the game with both his running and passing.
- The two-minute drill will be led by Brock Purdy. He hit Jauan Jennings in stride with a strike down the field. Really, that was the sweetest thing.
Halftime: Texans 7, 49ers 0
Third Quarter:

Oof. Tariq Castro-Fields, a rookie cornerback, was penalized for pass interference while providing excellent coverage. Awful luck for the sixth-round pick.
- The second half of the game will begin with Tashaun Gipson beginning at free safety. When Marlon Mack, the running back, broke a lengthy run, he made a tackle.
- Drake Jackson got a yellow for a hit after he knocked Davis Mills down. Probably there shouldn’t have been a punishment for that. Jackson did well to avoid biting on play action and causing an incomplete pass.
- Houston had a touchdown called back, but they scored on the next play. In the middle of the field, Moore and Gipson were separated, allowing for a simple touchdown. In favor of the home team, the score is 14-0.
- San Francisco’s offence will benefit from the return of Purdy.
With around 10 minutes left in the third quarter, JaMycal Hasty entered the game for the first time. This is the team’s fourth running back to see action.
- That was a nice through ball from Purdy to Dwelley. He’s made a couple of pinpoint passes through the middle.
- On third down, Purdy made a decent throw, but Turner dropped the ball.
- In his backpack, Mitch Wishnowsky is waiting.
- A bag for Omenihu. He has the makings of a breakout player for the defense of San Francisco.
- QB spot reinstated for Sudfeld.
Dwelley finally having a big game that he needs.
The 49ers will miss Jimmy Garoppolo’s ability to sneak as a quarterback.
Texans 17, 49ers 0 at the end of the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter:

- Kemoko Turay’s continued presence is intriguing. That probably won’t help his prospects of getting on the team.
- At the 13:00 mark, we see Ty Davis-Price enter the game.
- 11 penalties for the 49ers with almost the entire fourth quarter to go.
- Purdy can play a little bit.
- And right on cue he throws a terrible interception. Yuck.
Final score: Texans 17, 49ers 0
